speakerspell

Speakerspell by tomcook

i have been perusing freesound, i know its old but there are some really odd samples on there
but i found a half usuable speakerspell glitched sample pack and made the first rhythm up with it
it spawned the rest.....i have a terrible cold at the mo and seem unable to hear anything under 250hz so do excuse the mixing...although alot of the instruments are 8bit and lower.....
also at the end is a lovely instrument the ultrakord a crazy japanese strummed keyboard.....its a puremagnetik sample pak that is pretty cool......i'm sure it will appear alot more soon....drums are from swiss chris sample pak cut em up and played them in like i used to on my old sampler
well back to my blocked sinus i go....TC

yesshirschmitt

Yesshirschmitt by tomcook

This is a delving into my love of the bass and how not to play it
its just a big guitar so why not play it like that!!!
cut up some drum n bass beats and played em back into live to add extra gusto and manicness
then found some 70's break beat samples with weird rolls and crowd noises
and then attacked the bass, firing as many riffs and fills into ableton as i could
then just jammed it all as a composition
added guitar and found some horn samples to squeeze into the right key
gets a bit dull in the middle, but will work on it, when you start hectic where else do you go to!!!

General Tai

General tai by tomcook

well this morning i was working through all my tracks, writing down what i need to finish and found the bassline for this, so i quickly watched an ableton vocoder tutorial as i always forget how to set it up!! grabbed a mic made some noise and this is this mornings ditty......sort of oddhouse darkfrance....
but it was just a way to get away from finishing what i am supposed to be doing!!!
live long and proper, maybe prosper, maybe vospers........TC

Its Christmas Time Again!!!!! by tomcook

Well i got a brief to write Christmas tunes in Feb but have only just felt safe enough to reenter the christmas vibe without self harming!!
So here are a few tunes based on christmas classics. Will try to do some christmas electro and maybe even a festive dubstep number.....why is there no easter music...i love eggs.....i do apologise for these tunes in advance
they are all unfinished so expect bad singing and some lost words and ideas, or even non words but yeah its a bit of fun.....chow for now

Its coming....

It's coming... by tomcook

I don't really know what this track is, its sort of electro pop, with vague non vocals, a mid section that has a dark muppet stomp feel to it and then a kinda poppy ending ....... hmmm kept me quite for a few hours though.....
i do kinda like its weird menace and the bass sound, am i saying drink of water in the middle i really don't know!!! maybe it could be a late night cantina band track. But yeah i do like the way the bassline changes key for the end and the vocals stay the same brings a happy contrat to it all.....

see through tabasco

Copernicus's Centre

Copernicus's centre by tomcook

Todays task was to use the orchestra without drums and rhythm, to turn off the click and create something fluid, progressive and emotive. Found some space for the clarinet and flute sections, really like the atmosphere they bring.
A lot of dodgy notes about and my timpani crescendos are hilarious but its a sketch.....
Will maybe ut it all together sometime, maybe expolre some electronica in their for gaming zones.
Cheers to you all.....
